By helping producers optimize their harvests through our products and services we minimize their need to expand their fields into areas designated for wildlife and recreation. Agrium has worked with stakeholders to develop an industry-wide nutrient stewardship system that will reduce the opportunity for product to be lost to the environment by applying the right products at the right rate, time and place through the implementation of best management practices.

Agrium works to minimize the negative impacts created through our mining, processing and transportation of our products. We have measures in place to monitor our impact on the environment. The primary tool we use to implement sound environmental practices is our Environment, Health, Safety & Security Management System. This program is audited to generate recommendations on areas of improvement.

By providing crop nutrients and other crop production inputs we are helping growers provide abundant and nutritious food for increasing populations. Agrium also supports organizations like the International Plant and Nutrition Institute (IPNI) that works with growers in areas that have challenges related to agriculture growth. IPNI employs over 20 scientists that work with growers and researchers in developing nations to increase crop production and environmental performance through the use of fertilizer best management practices.

Agrium supports the economies of the countries where it has operations in many ways. We are a consistent employer and significant taxpayer. We partner with many other companies and organizations to conduct our daily business. Agrium has also increased its ability to support growers in North and South America in the past few years through the growth of its retail farm centers. Our Advanced Technologies Business Unit is expanding as well. AAT recently announced the construction of a new ESN® production facility in New Madrid, Missouri. Finally, we are a sound long-term investment for our shareholders.
