EDGAR (the Electronic Data Gathering, Analysis, and Retrieval system) performs automated collection, validation, indexing, acceptance, and forwarding of submissions by companies and others who are required by law to file forms with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). All companies, foreign and domestic, are required to file registration statements, periodic reports, and other forms electronically through EDGAR.
Does Agrium still honor Viridian Inc. share certificates?
Agrium merged with Viridian in 1996; therefore, your Viridian shares are exchangeable for Agrium shares. Please contact Agrium's Transfer Agent and Registrar, CIBC Mellon Trust Company, directly for more complete details about exchanging your Viridian shares.
What is a Transfer Agent and Registrar?
A Transfer Agent and Registrar maintains a record of all outstanding stock certificates and the names of the persons to whom they are registered. When registered stock certificates change hands, the Transfer Agent facilitates the title transfer of stock ownership from the seller's name to the buyer's name. Agrium's Transfer Agent and Registrar is CIBC Mellon Trust Company.
